LA FITNESS COMMITS TO NEW MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY RETAIL NEWS
CHEVY CHASE, MARYLAND – Activity is heating up at one of Montgomery County’s most anticipated new mixed-use developments, as a result of a 50,000 square-foot lease with national gym chain LA Fitness and a scheduled groundbreaking within the next 60 days. North Bethesda Market (NoBe), formerly marketed as White Flint Crossing, is a 600,000 square-foot, upscale, mixed-use retail and residential development to be anchored by LA Fitness and a 60,000 square-foot Whole Foods Market. With the commitment by the fitness chain, the retail component now is 50% leased. Shopping center leasing, management, and development company JBG Rosenfeld Retail (JBGR) is developing the project.
“The LA Fitness deal certainly is a boon for our leasing efforts at NoBe,” said JBGR Principal Grant Ehat. “With a second anchor lease under our belt, plus the groundbreaking of the project in the very near future, there is a buzz among consumers and potential retailers, alike, who want to be a part of this development. With each milestone reached, we are another step closer to delivering the sophisticated, urban living environment we envision for NoBe.” Based on the current construction schedule, JBGR anticipates the retail portion of the development will open in early second quarter 2010.

The entrance to the club will be at the northeastern most corner of the property at its intersection with Rockville Pike.
