BUFFALO WILD WINGS TURNS TO JBG ROSENFELD RETAIL FOR SITE SELECTION RETAIL NEWS
CHEVY CHASE, MARYLAND – Seeking to expand its presence throughout the state of Maryland, national wing and sports bar concept Buffalo Wild Wings recently tapped the tenant representation resources of shopping center leasing, management, and development company JBG Rosenfeld Retail (JBGR), a move that already has resulted in two new locations for the chain. JBGR has finalized leases for two, 6,500 square-foot restaurants – one at Urbana Village Center in Frederick County, and the other at Vista Gardens Marketplace in Lanham. Both restaurants are scheduled to open in 2009.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to assist Buffalo Wild Wings with their expansion plans in Maryland,” said JBGR Executive Vice President Bob Schwenger. “Securing the locations in Urbana and Lanham has set the pace for our efforts, and we look forward to building upon these successes in the future.” Buffalo Wild Wings’ ideal restaurant space is a 6,500 square-foot pad or highly visible end-cap location near national big box retailers, colleges or universities, or movie theaters. JBGR Leasing Agent Jeff Topchik is responsible for the account.
Located just off I-270 at the intersection of Urbana Pike and Fingerboard Road, Urbana Village Center is a 94,000 square-foot retail center under development by Stanford and Baier Properties, both of Bethesda. The center, which will be anchored by an upscale grocer yet to be named, also will feature a Rite Aid Pharmacy, Bank of America, dry cleaner Georgetown Valet, Ledo Pizza, and donut shop The Fractured Prune.
Developed by NAI/Michael Companies, Vista Gardens Marketplace is a 53-acre, 400,000 square-foot development anchored by Target, Shopper’s Food Warehouse, and Home Depot. The center is located at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Highway and Route 450/Annapolis Road in Prince George’s County.
Established in 1982 in Columbus, Ohio, Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar is best known for its Buffalo, NY-style chicken wings spun in one of its14 signature sauces. Today, there are over 500 company-owned and franchised restaurants throughout the United States, including three others in Maryland.
