CHEVY CHASE, MARYLAND -- August 19, 2009 – JBG Rosenfeld Retail is proud to announce that the final 1,500 square feet of retail space at Jenkins Row on Capitol Hill has been leased to GameStop, the world’s leading retailer of video games and software entertainment.  Occupying the final 1,500 square feet of retail space at the project, GameStop will join existing tenants, Harris Teeter, Signal Federal Credit Union and Subway.  GameStop expects to open its doors in fall of 2009 in the prominent end cap space.

JBG Rosenfeld Retail, retail developer in the Mid-Atlantic, represented the Landlord for the transaction at Jenkins Row.  “We are pleased to have found such a quality tenant to add to the Jenkins Row Project.  GameStop has a few locations in the District, but the new store at Jenkins Row is the first for the neighborhood.  We are confident in their great success at this site,” reports Billy Orlove, JBG Rosenfeld Leasing Director.  Bob Morris of KLNB represented the Tenant in this transaction.

GameStop currently operates more than 6,200 stores in seventeen countries, employing more than 46,000 people.  The company markets the latest videogame, software, gaming systems and markets gently used games.  During the 2008 fiscal year, Gamestop posted sales of $8.8 Billion.

Jenkins Row, developed by JPI, is positioned prominently at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Potomac Avenue in Southeast Washington, DC, and boasts more than 300,000 square feet of mixed-use retail and residential condominiums.  The project was completed in 2008.  JPI also developed Capitol Yards, a luxury rental apartment neighborhood just five blocks south of the U.S. Capitol and four blocks from the new Washington Nationals Ballpark.
